Roulette: Red or Black?
24 Apr
This is the age old question that has been asked by players internal dialogue since the games creation. Roulette seems like the most straight forward casino game next to slots. You pick a number and a color, and you put money on it. A wheel is spun and the ball lands on a number. Easy, right? Wrong. There is a lot that goes into the game of Roulette, and just as easily, a lot that can be misunderstood. Betting when you are uninformed or misinformed is dangerous and can easily cause you to lose all your money.
Betting on red or black is a tricky matter. No matter what statistics or science will tell us, our gut tells us to bet on black when red has been called 10 times in a row. We just can’t help it. Black has to be next, right? How many times can red be called? This is dangerous betting. It is important to remember that, with Roulette, there is always a 50/50 chance. No matter how prominent one color is, on every spin the odds are always equal for it to come up one color or the other.
Just remember that no matter how long you stand at the table or stick to one color, your odds will never change, you won’t ever see a pattern. Roulette is about betting habits, limiting your loses and relying on luck. If you want strategy, better stick with card games.
